Separate the formats before comparing prices
A fabric planter, an ordinary rigid pot and a purpose-built reservoir planter are not interchangeable specifications. University of Maryland Extension explains that container choice and drainage matter. Normal drainage arrangements should not be confused with a reservoir system designed around its own instructions.
Start your comparison with the exact item name and intended use. Then add internal or manufacturer-stated growing volume, outside footprint, drainage arrangement and the instructions you would need to follow. Leave unknown values blank rather than borrowing dimensions from a similar-looking product.
Make each concern a checkable question
For a fabric container, identify the size, handle option and quantity in the pack. For a rigid container, check whether the listed dimensions refer to the rim, base or inner cavity. For a reservoir planter, identify the fill point, overflow arrangement and specified media requirement. Do not treat its outside box dimensions as usable soil volume.

Record your reason for the choice
Finish the comparison with one sentence: “I chose this because it meets these requirements, and I still need to check this limitation.” This is more useful next season than a saved screenshot of a star rating without the model number.
Keep movement and support questions separate from shopping convenience. A handle is not proof that a fully filled planter can be safely carried in your circumstances. This guide provides no load rating or mounting instructions. If an existing suitable container already meets the requirements, keeping it is a valid outcome of the comparison; the purpose is a workable garden, not a matching collection.
